Description of Responsibilities for each Office

Chair:

Main responsibilities:

Preside at meetings
Organize officer meetings
Represent party in community
Appoint chairs of all committees except the Nominating Committee
Designate a Vice-Chair who shall act as Chair in the absence of the Chair

 

Vice Chair for Internal Organization

Main responsibilities:

Develop organizing plan in concert with other Dem orgs and Vice Chair for External Organization
Organize ward chairs and precinct delegates, precinct captains and block captains
Take lead in Get Out The Vote (GOTV)  activities in 2008 General Election
Assist with coordination with County Dems
Assist with coordination with 15th District Dems
Assist with coordination with College Dems
Assist with coordination with Western Washtenaw Dems

 

Vice Chair for External Organization:

Main responsibilities:

Develop organizing plan in concert with other Dem orgs and Vice Chair for Interrnal Organization
Coordinate with County Dems
Coordinate  with 15th District Dems
Coordinate with College Dems
Coordinate  with Western Washtenaw Dems
Assist with the organizing of ward chairs and precinct delegates, precinct captains and block
captains

Assist with Get Out The Vote (GOTV)  activities in 2008 General Election

 

Vice Chair for Major Events:

Main responsibilities:

Develop plan for major events

Take lead role in organizing annual Labor Day Picnic and other major events

 

Vice Chair for Programs:

Main responsibilities:

Develop programs plan
Coordinate speakers and programs for monthly meetings

Vice Chair for Outreach and Inclusion:

Main responsibilities:
Develop plan to increase outreach and communication between the community and the aadems
Raise the awareness level regarding the aadems in the community

Promote the education of , outreach to, and inclusion of existing and  potential
new members and groups

Coordinate activities with Vice Chair for Membership

 

Vice Chair for Membership:

Main responsibilities:
Develop and implement plan to increase participation in aadems

Maintain accurate membership records

Coordinate activities with Vice Chair for Outreach and Inclusion

 

Vice Chair for Campus Relations:

Main responsibilities:
Provide liaison to campus political groups including College Dems and activist
organizations
Keep aadems informed of relevant campus activities and issues

 

Vice Chair for Fundraising

Main responsibilities:
Develop fundraising plan for Party.
Expand fundraising to include outreach to large donors and direct mail solicitation.

 

Treasurer:

Main responsibilities:
Receive and disburse funds of the Party and keep records of the same
Compile and submit PAC campaign finance reports to county

 

Secretary:

The Secretary shall keep and distribute minutes of all business meetings of the
Executive Board and meetings of the Party, and shall arrange for correspondence
and communication in concert with the Vice Chair for Communications as requested by the Chair.

 

Vice Chair for Communication:

Main responsibilities:

Develop and implement external communications plan

Send monthly notices to community regarding party meetings and activities (web
sites, A2 News, MI Daily, other Democratic Party organizations etc.)

Send notices to party members.
Coordinate and develop content for the web site.

Monitor and respond to aadems phone calls and e-mails
